Rev. De'Shante Ervin Sr. Pastor De'Shante Darrell Ervin Sr. was born May 23, 1980, to Eddie and Mary Ervin. He is the youngest of three (3) children. Pastor Ervin was born and raised in the city of Detroit, MI. Attending Faith Christian Academy and graduating from Martin Luther King High School. Later attended Christian Research and Development Training Institute for Biblical Counseling, Training for Reigning-Leadership Development for three (3) years. Afterwards, graduated from Detroit Ministers Institute in 2021. Pastor Ervin accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the early age of eight (8), under the leadership of Rev. S.L. Jones at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit, MI. In 1997, Pastor Ervin accepted his call to the ministry to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and united with his brother-in-law and sister (Michael and Dana Berry) who were the pastors of Higher Ground Ministries. After years of proven commitment to God and the church he received his ministerial license in May of 2000 and was ordained in January of 2005. In 2000, God blessed Pastor De’Shante Ervin’s life when he met Lady Crystal Ervin. On December 19, 2001, De’Shante and Crystal united in holy matrimony. She is his rock and assists him in all of his ministry endeavors. They are the proud parents of three children, Dionne Ervin, (twins) De’Shante (DJ) Ervin Jr. and Rachel Ervin. In August of 2006, Pastor Ervin became the founder and CEO of Rhema Word Ministries, which is his personal teaching and outreach ministry. Through this ministry he has had the opportunity to start up many home-based Bible studies throughout the Metro Detroit area and be a blessing to many needy and less fortunate families. His preaching and teaching focus is to breakdown the Word of God in such a simple way, that everyone that hears him can get a true understanding. His God ordained assignment is to minister to the whole man; mind, body, and soul, with emphasis on building a stronger personal relationship with Jesus. After being led by God to move his membership to Christ Temple Baptist Church of Detroit, MI under the leadership of Bishop Devay Myatt Sr. in 2008. Pastor Ervin was able to develop and sharpen his skills as a leader of leaders, while he served in the role of Pastor of Ministries overseeing all the ministries of the church. In 2014, God spoke and Pastor Ervin heard and obeyed. On March 4, 2014, he launched Bible study for Living In Victory Everyday Ministries (L.I.V.E.). in Southfield, MI. On September 14, 2014, he was officially installed as Pastor. He served faithfully until October 6, 2019, when he was led to unit with Rock of Ages Christian Ministries, serving under Pastor Jerome McAfee. He served Pastor McAfee and the church until Pastor McAfee’s retirement on January 16, 2022. At that time, he was asked to serve as the churches Interim Pastor and then on March 27, 2022, he was voted in a the new Senior Pastor.
